Philadelphia - Our One Day Walk Through History

During a recent business trip to Philadelphia, we took a couple of personal days to see historic sites in the area. We found Philadelphia an easy city to navigate without a car. After our plane landed we picked up our luggage and took the SEPTA train into City Center. The conversations between clueless travelers and a patient train conductor were entertainment itself.

We started our afternoon with a bowl of pho (Vietnamese soup) for lunch at a small restaurant on Race Street in Chinatown. Huge bowls of extremely hot soups were served very within minutes of our order. Bring cash, as several restaurants in town require a minimum charge for credit cards.

Your first stop in the historic district should be the Independence Visitor Center. Stop to see the National Park Service Rangers at the desk to pick up a map of the National Park area. They also distribute tickets to Independence Hall. There is no free for these time stamped tickets but they are usually gone early in the day. This is the only area of the Independence National Historic Park which requires a ticket.

At many sites in this district, you must enter though a security line. You can reduce your time in line by leaving all packages in your hotel room or car.

Once you have your ticket to Independence Hall, take a walk across the street to view the Liberty Bell. The building has exhibits on the history of the bell including how it was made, the fateful crack and repair attempts. There are photos of the bell as it traveled around the county.

Make your way across the street allowing plenty of time to get through security before your tour of Independence Hall. If you are early for your timed tour, check out Congress Hall while you wait. You can also tour the East and West Wings before the tour of Independence Hall.

We ended our day with a variety of options from vendors at Reading Terminal Markets. Product, cheese, wine, candy and prepared meals are a treat for the eyes and tummy. Stop at multiple vendors and snack your way through the aisles. We had Adsl Speed steak and falafel sandwichestopped off with a piece of chocolate cake.

Things we did on Sun. Mar. 29, 2009

- Free breakfast at the hotel before heading out. Cold and wet today.

- Went back to pick up tickets for Independence Hall and took another look at the Liberty Bell

- Met a Free Quaker at the historic Quaker meeting house. Great place to sit and contemplate the world.

- Stopped in the Betsy Ross house for a tour.

- Headed to the Reading Terminal Markets for lunch: Philly Steak and Falafel sandwich

- Afternoon temps rising and fog and drizzle are clearing

- Walked through Sts. Peter nd Paul Cathedral, Beautiful carvings.

- Saw the Greek Independence Day Parade kick off

- Walked passed the Masonic Temple

- Toured the Christ Church Broadband Package Grounds where Ben Franklin and 4 other signers of the Declaration of Independence are buried.

- Checked out the Franklin Market print shop and museum for exhibits of prints and implements.

- Did some geocaching along the way back to hotel.

- Dinner at Mixx Asian Sushi. Good food, service and reasonable prices.

Things we did on Monday Mar. 30, 2009

- Off to the Philadelphia Mint self guided tour.

- Tried to see the Federal Reserve Bank tour but they had school streamyx internet trips scheduled so regular folks like us not allowed in.

- Talked with the archeologist at the Independence Living History Center about finds at digs within the historic Philly Independence National Historical Park.

- Lunch at Jake's pizza on Race and Broad. Great Philly sandwiches, and of course, pizza.

- Picked up vendor badges for the On Demand/AIIM show at the convention center and set up the Meadows Publishing Solutions booth. Visited with partners on the exhibit floor

And their will always be a wet t-shirt contest at 12:00 in the back of Rum Runners on Duval Street. The beaches will be littered with co-eds and life is good.

CoD4 Shot Gun Tips

Introduction

The good old Shot Gun. Shot guns are probably tmnet streamyx account least used guns in Call of Duty 4. The reason is they fill and extremely small niche in CoD4. These weapons Upload And Download Speed have their place on the battle field, you just need pick your spots carefully.

Its the only gun where you have just one range. If you aren't at close range not only will you not kill any thing, you wont even damage it. Attachments

Bandolier is alright choice also since these weapons are short in the ammo category. You can even use claymores to cover yourself from crossfire's.

In Perk slot 2 Slight of Hand is a very good choice when going shot gun. The auto shotty only has 4 rounds so this perk can save your life.

If for whatever reason you don't want sleight of hand Juggernaut works decent. Good old Stopping Power is alright choice too. Out of all these I do best with Slight of Hand.

Perk 3 really doesn't have a whole lot that helps us out with a shot gun. The 2 usual suspects Deep Impact and Stead Aim are no good to us. Extreme conditioning is what I go with. It gives you the ability to get to cover faster. The faster you can get into your spot the less time people have to shoot at you.

Getting Accuracy

Accuracy isn't an issue with the shotty. You can check my internet speed jump, spin around in circles or what ever else you can think of and the gun wont care. The issue with these guns is getting your target in range. Even then you want them to come in close enough to land a one hit kill, that's why we are using the shot gun after all is for that close range power shot.

If it takes you 2 shots to get a kill then why not use a more versatile SMG? Since accuracy isn't a problem you always want to move and shoot, makes you harder to hit and that is generally a good thing.

Playing it Smart

Playing smart with the shot gun is key since it has so many weaknesses to cover for. The first thing we need to do is think about what the shot guns advantages over other weapons are. Its biggest asset is that you can score a one hit kill at close enough range. It also stays accurate while you move and shoot. When your playing in a server ask yourself if your play is taking advantage of these strong points.

Try to keep your movement from one area to another at a minimum, the more you move around the more you expose your weakness. Because of this patience is the most important quality in a good shot gun player. Its not always the most fun job but some one has to stay back and defend, eventually the action will come your way and your patience will pay off.

However staying in one place isn't always an option, for example the objective might change or move. When this happens you have no choice but to pack up and find a new place to call home. When moving from one spot to another take out your pistol. Chances are you will encounter some one out of the range of the shot gun, so you have a much better chance at surviving with your side arm.

Tips and Tricks

Now I want to talk to you about some common mistakes that will help you avoid unnecessary deaths. Number one is don't get tunnel vision. Don't focus on one area or just what's going on in front of your face. This means don't guard the retail rewards programs door way all freaking game. Move around or die to grenades.
